Binge Eating/Emotional Eating

  • Do you have times when you feel out of control with food?
  • Do you find yourself eating to soothe your emotions more often than you’d like?
  • Do you experience a lot of ‘food noise’?
  • Do you feel stuck in a cycle of dieting and bingeing?
  • Have you tried many times to ‘get food under control’ to no avail?

If you are struggling with your relationship with food, I can help.

In our work together we explore your relationship with food – its origins, the patterns you find yourself in, and how food helps. With greater understanding and awareness you discover ways to interrupt your habitual patterns and find new, more life-affirming ways to soothe yourself and create a more relaxed relationship with food.

It can feel daunting to talk about your relationship with food. Many people experience shame about bingeing, or feeling out of control with food. I seek to create a warm, non-judgemental space where all bodies and all experiences are welcome.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background of life or it might be like a tidal wave that threatens to engulf you.

It can show up as restlessness, perfectionism, tension in the body, racing thoughts, or difficulty sleeping.

Perhaps you experience intrusive, irrational thoughts – the ‘what ifs?’ – and no matter how much your rational mind tries to resolve these, they just won’t stop.

Maybe you desperately want to slow down but your mind won’t let you.

The work begins with helping you get to know your anxious parts, where they come from and in what ways they’re trying to protect you. As you understand yourself more deeply, it becomes clearer how to care for yourself when anxiety arises, so it becomes less overwhelming and impactful on your life.

Relationship Issues

Do you feel stuck in certain relationship patterns?

Or do find yourself consistently attracted to people who are not good for you?

Maybe you feel anxious or unsure in close relationships, worrying that you’re too much, or not enough.

Maybe you lose yourself in relationships, or keep people at arm’s length because closeness feels risky.

Relationship difficulties are rarely just about the present moment, they often connect to early experiences of attachment, safety, and identity. In therapy, we’ll explore your relational patterns with care and curiosity.

This is not to label or blame but to understand, gently loosen what isn’t helpful, and make room for something new to emerge. We’ll work toward relationships that feel more fulfilling and less exhausting, including the one you have with yourself.
